I' am a 2001 graduate of Texas A&M Kingsville. I have a specialization in Early Childhood and reading, I taught 2 years at William Adams as an 8th grade Reading teacher. In 2003 I finally returned to my calling as a Pre-K teacher here at Schallert Elementary. This will be starting my 5th year teaching Pre-K and I love it. Last November my husband and I had our first child a baby boy named Chase. He is my pride and joy and all my extra time is devoted to him.

I am a 1994 graduate of Texas A & I University -- Kingsville, Texas. I have worked for the Alice Independent School District for 12 years ( all 12 years at Schallert Elementary). I have taught 5th grade and the last seven years in 4th grade. I am very pleased to have joined the staff at Schallert Elementary -- the A GREAT PLACE TO LEARN!!! I am a new teacher at Schallert elementary and I am new to the Alice area. My husband and I just got married in the big city of Ben Bolt, Texas. I say that jokingly I am from the "big city" of Houston, Texas. I have been all over the state of Texas, all over the United States and into a few other countries across the Globe. I am excited to share my traveling experiences with your children. I am also coming from the field of Landscape Architecture where I designed commercial and residential landscapes in the hill country of Texas. Hi, I am a 1992 graduate of Alice High School. I attended Southwest Texas State University for two semesters, and then transferred to Texas A&M University - Kingsville, where I graduated in August 1997. I began my teaching career as a second grade teacher at Noonan Elementary and then was transferred to Nayer Elementary as a Prekindergarten teacher. I have taught Prekindergarten for 9 years.
I have been married to my husband, David, for 8 1/2 years and I have two wonderful children, Jacob, 7, and Mia, 4. On my spare time I enjoy playing outside with my children, vacationing with my family, working in the yard, and SHOPPING!!!

I am Mrs. Norma Montemayor. I was born and raised in Alice. I grauated from Alice High in 1977. My husband, Alejandro, and I have two children. Luis Alejandro (aka Alex) is eighteen years old and is a senior at Alice High. Juan Carlo is thirteen and is an eighth grader at William Adams Middle School. I received my teaching degree in the winter of 1982. I began teaching in January of 1983 at Memorial Middle School as a seventh grade teacher. I have been at Schallert Elementary from 1984 to the present.

My name is Heather Nairn. This is my sixth year teaching third grade. I am recently married and moved here from Leander, Texas. This is my first year in this district and I am very excited to be here.

I am a 1990 graduate of Texas A&I University. All my 18 years of teaching have been at Schallert.
The first 10 years, I taught second grade. I'm starting my 9th year in fourth grade, and I love it. My favorite thing to teach is writing. It's wonderful to have kids get excited about creating their own stories.
My husband, Mando,and I have been married for 30 years. We share two daughters. Liz is a freshman at St. Edward's University in Austin. Laura and, her husband,Ruben live and work in Lubbock.
I enjoy reading, shopping, and spending time with my family.

I am a graduate from Texas A&M Kingsville. I just graduated this May 2005. This is my first time teaching and I am really enjoying it. My husband's name is Joey Salinas and I have a seven year old son, Isaac. As a family we enjoy going to baseball games and of course to the Alice football games.

My name is Laura Vela-Samaniego. I am a Alice High School graduate. I attended college at Texas A&M University-Kingsville. I recieved a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in Psychology. At the present time I am working on a Master's degree in Special Education. I teach Special Education all elementry levels in a B.I. Unit at Schallert Elementry. This is my second year teaching at Schallert. In the furture, I plan to become a School Counselor or a Special Education Counselor. In addition, I am also married and have one 11 year old daughter named Alyssa.

In 1986, I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a bachelor's degree in music. Later I returned to the university and earned my teaching certificate in early childhood and elementary education.
